Description of pub: Known locally as The Stokehole, this beautifully restored 17th century village pub is set in lovely countryside approximately 10 minutes from Chelsmford. Originally two farmers cottages, this privately owned and run freehouse still retains its original beams and inglenook fireplaces, with antique furnishings. The locally sourced fresh homemade food is straightforward and served alongside a good selections of real ales, ciders and fine wines. There is a picket fenced front garden affording views of the Essex Way.
